Linseed Oil is obtained by cold pressing of the seeds of Linunm
Usitatissimum followed by a mechanical filtration.

Composition of the fatty-acid fraction of the oil:
fatty acids with a chain length less than C16: maximum 1.0 per
cent,
Palmitic acid: 3.0 to 8.0 %
Palmitoleic acid : maximum 1.0 %
Stearic acid: 2.0 to 8.0 %
Oleic acid : 11.0 to 35.0 %
Linoleic acid : 11.0 per cent to 24.0 %
Linolenic acid : 35.0 to 65.0 %
Arachidic acid: maximum 1.0 %
Storage : The Linseed Oil should be stored at a cool (10-20C) and
dry place, protected from light. In the unopened drum the
durability of the oil is 12 months. Once opened the drums have to
be reflushed with Nitrogen, closed airtight and the oil has to be
used up within 6 weeks.
